It is with immense pleasure that The Optical Foundation introduces our newest board member Simone
Stad.

Simone is a Dutch optometrist and completed her Bachelor degree at the University of applied science
in Utrecht. For her Master degree, she went to City University London, United Kingdom.

She is a Fellow of the BCLA and lectured extensively at national and international conferences. She has
been a key opinion leader for well-known international contact lens manufacturers. For over 30 years
she worked in retail and hospital practices in the Netherlands with a special passion for multi-focal
contact lenses and customer service. She has been a manager in an ophthalmology clinic and has been
working for Specsavers since 2014 as manager professional advancement for Northern Europe.

We have no doubt that Simone’s contribute to the optical foundation will play an integral part in the
foundations next phase. We look forward to working with her.
